I began my teaching career at the upper elementary level, primarily at Carpenter Elementary, teaching all content areas. After four years at the elementary level, I moved to Deer Park Junior High, teaching sixth, seventh, and eighth grade English. Finally, for the last nine years I have taught AP English IV Literature and Composition, English III, Critical Instruction in English, and SAT Prep. In addition, since 2007, I have been a Trainer for Abydos Literacy Learning, training teachers and administrators in the use of critical reading and writing in all subjects and at all levels and have specialized in brain-based learning and the ways in which language shapes cognitive function.

 

As the Campus Technology Instructional Specialist, I am excited to help students and teachers use a variety of tools and techniques to enrich both personal and educational growth in ways that make sense, save time, and enrich experience.
