Deer Park High School - North Campus

Hello, 

 

My name is Robert Martinez aka Coach Martinez! 

 

This is my 9th year in education and my 5th year teaching Special Education. 

I have the privilege of coaching the 9th grade girls basketball team here at North Campus. Coaching is an enormous passion of mine and I plan to make an everlasting impact on the kids that I coach. 

 

I come from a big family - I have 7 siblings - and I bring the same sense of connection to the classroom and my basketball team. 

 

Teaching young minds to believe in themselves is what I was born to do. Sometimes we don’t realize our potential until someone helps us see it. When I was in the 2nd grade, my teacher, Mrs. Melia, clapped for me during class. That simple act made me feel so important that I still remember it decades later. Now every student gets to feel Mrs. Melia’s impact through me. Someday, my students will share my impact on them with the people in their life. 

 

I am excited for the opportunity to teach your child this year. I promise to bring energy, encouragement and a belief in themselves. It’s going to be an amazing year! 💪🏼
