Mrs. Miranda Satterfield » Welcome to English I!

Welcome to English I!

I’m Mrs. Satterfield and I’m so excited to be teaching English I at North Campus for my sixth year! As a proud Deer Park High School graduate, I know firsthand how special DPISD is when it comes to helping students grow, learn, and prepare for life after high school.

After graduating from Deer Park, I headed to College Station to attend Texas A&M University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in English and my master’s in Curriculum and Instruction (Whoop!). When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me in the cheer gym or on the sidelines coaching the Deer Park High School cheerleaders.

Outside of school, my favorite place to be is with my husband and our Frenchie, Moira—and right now, we’re counting down the days until we welcome our baby boy. Family is everything to me, and you’ll probably hear lots of stories about them throughout the year.

In our class, we’ll dive into great literature, strengthen our writing skills, and grow as thinkers and communicators. My biggest goal is to make sure every student feels welcomed, challenged, and supported.

You can always find our weekly agendas, assignments, resources, and announcements here on Canvas.
